Everything your server needs
Build 42 multiplayer
Run the latest Build 42 multiplayer, or stay on Build 41 for an existing save. You choose the branch from the panel.
Steam Workshop mods
Add Workshop IDs and mod IDs to your server settings, and the server downloads them on start-up. We’ll help if a mod list won’t load.
Your sandbox, your rules
Edit zombie population, loot rarity, respawn, erosion speed and every other sandbox option directly in the file manager.
Save your save
Project Zomboid worlds take hours to build up. Schedule automatic backups and restore any snapshot in a click.
Scheduled restarts
Heavy modded servers run best with a regular restart. Set one up with in-game warnings in the scheduler.
Admin tools
Use the live console for admin commands, whitelisting, bans and teleporting players out of trouble.
Manage Project Zomboid from your browser
Start, stop and restart your server, run admin commands in the live console, edit config files and upload mods, all from a clean web panel that works on your phone too.
- One-click backups and scheduled snapshots
- Scheduled restarts with automatic tasks
- SFTP access for big uploads
- Subusers with fine-grained permissions
Playing in three steps

Project Zomboid hosting questions
Do you support Build 42 multiplayer?
Yes. New servers can run Build 42 multiplayer, and you can switch to Build 41 for an existing save. Saves from one build don’t carry over to the other, so back up before switching.
How do I add Steam Workshop mods?
Add the Workshop IDs and the matching mod IDs to your server’s configuration file, then restart. The server downloads the mods automatically. Our Discord support can check a mod list for you.
How much memory do I need?
A small vanilla group runs well on 4–6 GB. Add more for bigger groups, more of the map explored and especially for large mod lists. The plan finder above gives a suggestion.
Can I upload my existing save?
Yes. Upload your save folder over SFTP and point the server to it. We’re happy to help on Discord.
Why does my modded server need restarts?
Long-running modded servers slowly use more memory. A scheduled restart every 6–12 hours, with an in-game warning, keeps things smooth.
